    Gertrude E. Donaldson, 97, Somerset, died April 20, 2008, at The Patriot. Born Dec. 9,
  1910, in Sandpatch, the daughter of the late John William Emery and Mary Virginia
  (Garlitz) Younkin. Also preceded in death by husbands, Paul Christner, John Eckert and
  William Donaldson; sisters, Geraldine Martin and Georgia Younkin, and a great-grandchild.
  Survived by sons, Gerald Christner, Palm Harbor, Fla., and George Christner, Canton,
  Ohio;
  grandchildren, Lisa Ann Mitchell, Janice Bayne and Amy Sanders; and 10
  great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews, Mrs. Douglas (Debbie) Miller and Donald
  Newcomer, both of Somerset, and Gwen Ankney, South Carolina. Member of First United
  Methodist Church and the FOE Ladies Auxiliary. Gertrude was one of the first residents of
  the Somerset Towers. A memorial service will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
  contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, PA
  15501. Arrangements under the direction of the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home,

    (Memorial)  Gertrude E. Donaldson, 97, Somerset, died April 20, 2008. A memorial
  service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev.
  Arthur Gotjen officiating. Interment Husband Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions
  may be made to the American Cancer Society, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501.
