Donaldson, 66 West Church Street, Somerset, died Sept. 2, 1986 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Sept. 18, 1919, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Dr. William R. and Mae (Marshall) Donaldson. Survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Christner; son, W. Richard Donaldson III, Somerset; and daughter, Mary, wife of Barry E. Deeter, Berlin; two stepsons; George, and Gerald Christner, Canton, Ohio; four granddaughters; one sister, Virginia, wife of Pastor George E. Bowersox Jr., Somerset; one niece, Marjorie Fiebinger, Austria, and one nephew, Edward Bowersox, Somerset. Veteran of World War II, served overseas with the 79th Infantry Division. Member of the VFW Post 554 Somerset, American Legion Post 181 Somerset; Somerset FOE Aerie 1801, BPO Elks Meyersdale Lodge, Meyersdale Lodge F. and A.M. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor George E. Bowersox Jr. officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Somerset.
