Donges, 57, of Phoenixville, died September 1, 1989, at Phoenixville Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in May, 1932, a son of Ethel M. Phillippe Donges, Meyersdale, and the late Stuart S. Donges. He had been a resident of Phoenixville for the past 14 years. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Ingrid Lee Donges, a student at Bucknell University, Lewisburg; two brothers, George Donges, Meyersdale; and William Donges, Somerset. Also surviving are six sisters: Betty Ann Buterbaugh, Meyersdale; Inez Bontreger, California, Pa.; Greta Moore, Connellsville; Mildred Linnell, Princeton, N.J.; Gayle Stumpf, Export; Emily Marks, Boston, Mass. He was employed as a data processing manager at Leaseway Transportation Co., Bryn Mawr and previously worked in data processing at Burroughs Corp., Malvern, now UNISYS. He was a graduate of Pierce Junior College and Pennsylvania State University; and was attending Villanova University. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale. Services were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 in the Charles Gutkowski Funeral Home, Phoenixville. Interment at the convenience of the family. The Republic, September 14, 1989 [D0813]
