Born Sept. 22, 1932, in Jenners, son of Frank and Josephine "Jay" (Perigo) Donia. Preceded in death by parents; an infant brother; and brother, Samuel. Survived by wife of 46 years, the former Dorothy M. Miller; daughter, Michele L. Hess, Greensburg; sons, Angelo F., married to Amy Cassidy, Stoystown; and Mark A., Hagerstown, Md.; granddaughters, Lauren, Natalie and Nicole Hess; brother, John, married to Linda Felhauer, Cleveland, Ohio; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kay Donia, Trenton, Mich.; Frank Miller and wife, Erma, Central City; Charles Miller, and wife, Brenda, Dallas, N.C.; and Mary Chelednik, Ocean, N.J.; and numerous other relatives and friends including special nephew, Brian Donia. A 1951 graduate of the former JBJ Joint Schools, Boswell. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Jenner Rod & Gun Club, Boswell Lodge 1780, Sons of Italy and Boswell Post 461 American Legion. Past president of USWA, Local 5245. Retired employee of Highland Tank & Manufacturing, Stoystown, with 37 years of service. Naval veteran of the Korean War, having served on the Destroyer USS Jarvis. Loved antiquing and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former mayor of Boswell Borough. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Friday and SOI memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass at noon Saturday at All Saints Church, Boswell. The Rev. Father Justin A. Ratajczak, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal Mount Carmel Cemetery, Jenner Crossroads, with military graveside rites in charge of the Somerset County Honor Guard.
