Born August 5, 1920, in Republican Grove, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lou Jenny (Tuck) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Joseph Dornburg, and her brothers, Clyde and Lennie Williams. Surviving are her daughter Joyce Hill, Wirtz, Va.; her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pam Dornburg, Springs; four grandchildren: Crystal, Rebecca, Matthew and James Dornburg; her brother, Clinton Williams, Rockville, Md.; and two nieces: Cheryl Lyons, North Bethesda, Md.; and Jean Williams, Annapolis, Md. Mrs. Dornburg graduated from Takoma Academy, Takoma Park, Md. in 1938, attended Washington Missionary College (now Columbia Union College) and later graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in elementary education. She was a teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools, Md., from 1957 until her retirement in 1980. She was an accomplished pianist, singer, enjoyed handwork crafts, and loved being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Frostburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. Friends were received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Moser officiating. Interment was in Shepherd Memorial Park, Hendersonville, N.C. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
