  John (Pete) Downey, 75, of Tarentum, Pa., died Dec. 26, 1977 in Allegheny
  Valley Hospital.  He was born April 26, 1902 in Brackenridge, Pa., a son of
  the late John T. and Mary Ellen (Clendenning) Downey.  He is survived by his
  widow Lola (Comp) Downey, a son Edward C. of Springdale, Pa., one
  granddaughter, and one great grandchild.  Friends will be received after 2
  p.m. Thursday at the Leckemby Funeral Home in Meyersdale where services
  will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Harold A. Appel,
  officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
