"Jack" Downie, 65, 553 Walnut Drive, Euclid, Ohio, died March 12, 1979, at University Hospital, Cleveland. He was born in Meyersdale, Dec. 1, 1913, son of late Thomas and Catherine (Keegan) Downie. He is survived by widow, former Ruth Speed, and daughter Cynthia, at home; also three sisters: Mrs. George (Katherine) Levadnuk, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs., Stephen (Beatrice) Gironda, and Mrs. William (Mary Jane) Borelle, both of Jerome; and two brothers, James, Sharon, and Charles Raymond, Mansfield, Ohio. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II, and was a salesman for 20 years at Perkins Steel Co., Cleveland. Services were held at Brunner Funeral Home, Mentor, Ohio with the Rev.
