Two Prominent Citizens of Confluence Answered Death's Call Past Week

  CONFLUENCE, Dec. 4 - Two prominent citizens of Confluence answered Death's 
call during the past week.  Mrs. Mary Lou Frantz passed away last week and Mrs. 
Samuel T. Downs on Monday of this week.

  Minnie Downs, 63, died at her home Monday afternoon after a prolonged illness.  
  She was born in Knoxdale, Pa., Jan. 29, 1883, to Henry and Isabella Shank.  
After her marriage to Samuel T. Downs she lived in this community.  She was 
active for many years in the Methodist Church, and in rearing her children, all 
of whom and her husband survive.  The children are: Mrs. Wm. Rinehart, Croyden; 
Charles, of Elwood City, and Jane, at home.  One grandson, Charles Jr., and one 
sister, Mrs. Frank Clouse, and one brother, Roy Shank, of Indianapolis, Ind., 
also survive.
  Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the C. B. Humbert Funeral 
Home, with Rev. M. B. Clendenien, officiating.  Interment in the Baptist 
Cemetery.
