Doyle, 90, of 130 Lohr St., Hooversville, died Feb. 23, 1988, at home. Born Dec. 10, 1897, in Quemahoning Twp., son of William and Mary Alice (Stark) Doyle. Preceded in death by parents; wives, Marion Berkebile and Leah Shaffer; brother Thad; sister Lola Murray. Survived by these sisters: India Baltzer, Canton, Ohio; Mary Cowan, of East Liverpool, Ohio. Former teacher, principal and librarian in the North Star School District. Army veteran of World War I. Well known author and photographer with several published works including histories of Somerset County. Former president of the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library in Somerset. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Gerald L. Myers officiating.
