Born Oct. 7, 1928 in Grantsville, Md. a daughter of the late Floyd J. and Fannie J. (Maust) Miller. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jacob and one sister, Mary. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Grady Doyle; six children, Rebecca, wife of Gary Spiker, Meyersdale, John and wife, Norma Jean, Springs, Pa., Miriam (Mim), wife of Stanley Housel, Salisbury, Floyd and wife, Teresa, Meyersdale, Barbara, wife of Jeff Law McHenry, Md., James and wife, Julie, Meyersdale; one foster son, Tom Freese, Indianapolis, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, Chris Caton, Butler, Lonny Doyle and wife, Jessica, Pasadena, Md., Jeremy Doyle, Meyersdale, Matthew Doyle, Fort Riley, Kan., Adam Spiker, Meyersdale, Kenny Housel, Salisbury, Jessica Spiker, Meyersdale, Patrick Doyle, Springs, Jamie and Jenny Doyle, Meyersdale, Stephanie and J.P. Law, McHenry, Michael and Lindsay Doyle, Meyersdale; four brothers, Daniel, Meyersdale, her twin, Ivan Del., Lewis, Accident, Md., Allen Grantsville, Md; three sisters, Barbara Miller, Del., Katharine Miller and Fannie Miriam Miller, both of Grantsville, Md.; her stepmother, Fannie (Bender) Miller Zook, Grantsville, Md.; six half sisters, Ida Marie Miller, Ontario, Loretta Burkey, Neb., Rhoda Keefer, Oakland, Alice Orendort, Accident, Gertrude Slabach, Virginia, Rachel Miller, Grantsville, Md. and 62 nieces and nephews. Iva was raised in Grantsville and was 14 when her mother passed away. She helped raise her seven younger brothers and sisters until she moved to Vassar, Michigan at the age of 21. She married and had six children. In 1972, she moved with her husband and children to Meyersdale. Iva was a devoted wife and loving mother, celebrating 48 years of marriage last December. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved all children, and her home was always open to them. She and her husband helped several teenagers through difficult times and many of them resided with the family for various lengths of time. She was an active member of the Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church. She was also a member of both the Appalachian Wagon Train Association and the Mountaintop Wagon Train Association. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing and crafts, traveling and collecting hummingbirds and thimbles. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends, but will be remembered for her positive attitude, for helping others, for her devotion to her family and for her loving heart and warm smile. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at the funeral home, Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Albert Valentine II officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Dale Cemetery.
