(Polk) Drummond, 87, of 132 School Ave., Jerome died Oct. 26, 1994, at Conemaugh hospital. Born Oct. 3, 1907, in Shenendoah County, Va. Daughter of William H. and Mary (Strawderman) Polk. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Melvin A. Sr., on Sept. 17, 1984; daughter, Betty; stepson James; brothers, John, Charles, William and Delbert, and sisters Virgie, Elizabeth and Maizie. Survived by theses children: Jane, widow of Gene Boyer, Jerome; Nancy Gisbrecht, Boswell RD 1; Pat, wife of Michael Petrunk, Windber; Melvin Jr., widower of Thelma Burkhardt, Boswell; Joan, wife of Ernest Jerin, Hooversville; Richard, married to Shelby Burk, Ohio; Peggy, widow of Paul Beener, Hollsopple RD 1, and George Clark, married to Denise Griffith, Jerome. Also 37 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Sister of Mildred Sheetz of Edinburg, Va. And Mabel Ward of Hanover, Md. Also survived by beloved sister-in-law Alice Reunion of Mount Jackson, Va. Member of Conemaugh Township Republican Committee, where she served as a committeewoman for many years. Also Jerome Lutheran Church and Jerome Firemen's Auxiliary. Employed for 19 years at the former Alwine's Restaurant, Johnstown RD 4, and former Dorlman and Hoffman garment factories. Was co-owner of the former Jerome Coffee Shop for several years. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell.
