  DUERRING
  
    Harold Anthony Duerring Sr., 82, of Garrett, died Dec. 28, 1999, at
  Somerset Hospital.  Born March 20, 1917, in Pittsburgh, son of Edward and
  Naomi (Landman) Duerring.  Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Clara
  Madeline, and second wife, Helen Joanne; son Harold Anthony Jr., and
  brothers, Donald, Eddy and Roy.  Survived by these children: Ronald Lee Sr.,
  married to the former Cindy J. Becker; Kenneth W., married to the former
  Bertha (Walker) Hotchkiss, both of Garrett; Dennis A. Sr., married to the
  former Cheryl Deaner, and Donna L. married to Robert Phillips, both of
  Gray; grandchildren: Michelle Lynn Colizza, Ronald Anthony, Ronald Lee II,
  Desirae A., Dennis Jr., Daniel Duerring and Rachel Lynn Sheftic;
  step-grandchildren, Michael, Wendy and Harold Hotchkiss;
  great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Victoria, Kortni, Brooke, Haile, Cory and
  Zachery.  Also a brother, Burton, of Mars.  He was a member of Berlin Legion
  Post 445.  A World War II Army veteran and master sergeant of one of the
  last horse cavalry soldiers.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7
  to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be
  held at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.  Interment,
  Highland Cemetery, Garrett.  Memorial contributions may be given to U.S.
  Cavalry Association, P.O. Box 2325, Fort Riley, Kan., 66442-0325.  Graveside
  military rites by Berlin VFW and American Legion.
