Dunkle, 70, Rockwood, formerly of Amity, PA., died March 18, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1918, in Washington County, a son of the late William L. and Nettie (Crawford) Dunkle. Survived by his wife, Anna (Lightner) Dunkle of Rockwood; one son, Ronald W., of Verona; these daughters: Beverly Ulrich of Munhall; Karen Williams of Aliquippa; Laura Adams of Avella; Betty Fretts of Ruffsdale; three sisters: Marie Dunkle of Washington, PA.; Mrs. Pearl Cale of Clairton; Viola Naylor, Scenery Hill, PA.; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. His death terminates a marriage union of 31 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Rockwood American Legion and the National Rifle Association, and a resident of Rockwood since 1979. He was a former manager of Scottyland Campground, Rockwood RD 3. Friends will be received 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood. His body will be removed to the Hummel Barnhill Funeral Home in Washington, PA., for visitation 3-9 p.m. Monday, where services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Frank Fischer officiating. Interment, Washington Cemetery, Washington, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home with Francis Brady supervising.
