Dunn, 83, of Salisbury, died June 21, 1986, in Meyersdale Manor. Born June 17, 1903, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Michael J. and Frances (Jaris) Dunn. Survived by his wife, the former Mary E. Petry. He was a retired school teacher and supervisor. He received degrees from Blue Ridge and Bridgewater colleges and the University of Maryland. He taught for 45 years in Pennsylvania and Maryland, the last 15 (1955-70) at Frostburg State College. He participated in many forms of athletics and was known for his baseball and basketball activities during his scholastic and collegiate years. He later coached in connection with his teaching. He was an active member in church and civic affairs. He was a member and past consistory man at the St. John's United Church of Christ. He was a charter member and past president of Salisbury Lions Club. He served on the Salisbury-Elk Lick School Board and was a member of the South Central Somerset County School Authority. He belonged to the Allegany County, Md., State of Maryland and National Retired Teachers' Associations. Friends are being received in Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
