Born Oct. 6, 1891, in Somerset Township, daughter of the late George and Mary Catherine (Statler) Duppstadt. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Cleeves and Lilian Henderson; four brothers, Clarence W., Orlo A., Robert W. and Harold S.; also one neice, Gladys Z. Duppstadt. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Josephine) Smith of Huntingdon, Pa.; also survived by three nieces and five nephews. She was a life member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Somerset where she was a teacher of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class for many years. She was a graduate of Somerset High School Class of 1910 and Grove City College in 1914. She served as a chief clerk of the county commissioners until 1940, also the Selective Service Board from 1940 until 1952 at which time she retired. She was secretary of the WPA and CWA. She was an active member of the Soroptimist International, Trinity Chapter No. 138 O.E.S., American Legion Auxiliary, life member of the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County. After her retirement she became interested in real estate. Friends will be received from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Daily American, March 30, 1984 [D1015]
