'Pap' 11/21/07 Daily American Lewis W. 'Pap' Duppstadt, 81, Huckleberry Highway, Central City, died Nov. 20, 2007, at home. Born Feb. 17, 1926, in Stonycreek Township, the son of Russell and Mary (Keller) Duppstadt. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Nevada Slick, and brother, Norman. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Shirley Walker; children, Carol Jean, married to Barry Burkett, Friedens; Barbara, married to Lynn Frazier; Wayne, married to the former Joni Engleka; and Clair, married to the former Tina Peterson, all of Central City; grandchildren, Brian and Todd Edmonson, Brianna Burkett, Jacob and Hannah Frazier, Airman Levi Duppstadt, Melissa Kauffman, Russell, Tara, Toby and Cooper Duppstadt. Also survived by a sister, Goldie Duppstadt; and his dog, Dynamite. He is a World War II Army veteran. A former employee of Stonycreek Township and former oiler for numerous coal companies. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville, and New Baltimore and Bald Knob sportsmen's clubs. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed maple sugaring. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service, 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville. The Rev. Robert J. Way officiating. Interment Glade Cemetery.
