Born Sept. 5, 1905 at Garrett County, Md. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Cushing) Bowser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Victor Durst in 1953. Mrs. Durst was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury American Legion auxiliary and was a retired cafeteria worker of Salisbury Elk-Lick High School. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Tissue and husband, Mike, Salisbury; one sister-in-law, Nettie Keefer, Salisbury; 3 grandchildren, Beverly Wass and husband, Bernard; Cynthia Brant and husband Wayne; and Rodney Tissue and wife, the former Lisa Wengerd. Also 4 great grandchildren, Adam Brant, Emily Brant, Hannah Tissue and Lydia Tissue. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, with the Rev., Raymond Brown officiating.
