Durst, 56, of Grantsville, RD 2, Md.., died August 31, 1982 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va. He was a foreman for the Phoenix Construction Company of Cumberland, Md. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict and was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church; Union Local 616; and Grantsville Post 214, American Legion. He was born in Jennings, and was a son of Mrs. Ethel (Platter) Durst, RD 2, and the late Harry Durst. Besides his mother he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances (Resh) Durst; three sons, Daniel Durst, Grantsville; James Durst, Accident, Md,; and William Durst, at home; one daughter, Mrs, Nancy Frantz, Grantsville; one brother, Carl Durst, and four sisters, Mrs., Alice Beitzel, Mrs, Emogene Resh, Mrs. Beulah Glotfelty and Mrs. Wanda Yommer, all of Grantsvile; and five grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were held with the Rev. K Almond and the Rev. George Plants officiating., Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Grantsville Post 214. The Republic, September 9, 1982 [D1052]
