Her death was caused by diabetes and a cerebral hemorrhage. She had been ailing for a long time and her death was not unexpected. She was a native of Garrett County, Md., and her maiden name was Elizabeth Ellen Yommer, daughter of John and Elsie Durr Yommer, natives of Germany, who settled in Garrett County, Md., many years ago. She is survived by her husband and six children, namely, Ernest, Daniel, Victor, Lawrence and Francis Durst, and Nellie, wife of Lewis Keefer, all residing near their parental home. Mrs. Durst is also survived by two sisters and a brother,, Mrs. Edward Beachy, residing near Grantsville, Md., Mrs. Milton Folk, of Fredonia, Pa., and Henry Yommer of Jennings, Md. Funeral service was held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, last Friday, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, assisted by Rev. A. M. Wright of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church. The burial arrangements were in charge of Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury mortician, with interment in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery. By the death of Mrs. Durst, the neighborhood in which she lived so many years of her life has lost one of its most kindly disposed women. She was a true and devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor, and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Meyersdale Republican, February 22, 1940
