All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ EMANUEL DURST Emanuel Durst, son of the late Samuel and Louisiana Durst, was born in what was then Allegany County, now Garrett County, Maryland, March 28, 1857, and passed away at his home in Garrett County, Md., near Springs, Pa., Jan. 21, 1932, aged 74 years, 9 months and 23 days. He was the last surviving member of a family of 11 children, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. By his quiet and unassuming manner he won many friends. He was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Church at Springs, where the funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. Emanuel Durst was never married, but a large number of relatives came to pay their last respects to a loved one - some from Hooversville and Berlin. Charles A. Walls preached the funeral sermon, assisted by G. D. Miller, and M. B. Miller. The pallbearers were S. S. Miller, D. D. Otto, S. J. Maust, C. F. Killius, N. S. Maust and Alvin Rodamer.
