Rev. Howard Whitacre, Flintstone, Md., officiated, assisted by Rev. J. C. Beahm. A daughter of the late Emanuel and Elemina Shepley, Bittinger, she was a member of long standing of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Durst was born at Donegal, Pa., but spent most of her life in Garrett County. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Herman Durst and Jerry Durst, near Jennings; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Savilla Butler, near Grantsville; and Mrs. Mary Bicker, Scottdale, Pa.; one brother, Grant Bittinger, Cove, Md. Pallbearers were Elmer Bittinger, Simon Bittinger, Harry Durst and Harold Bittinger. Interment was in the Maple Grove Church Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 15, 1943
