However, her death came at a time unexpected, a half-hour after she had retired for the night, on account of feeling tired. A few minutes later she sat up in bed and partook of light nourishment offered her, in the hope that it would stimulate her and make her feel stronger. She ate with apparent relish, but her spirit took its flight at the time stated, apparently without having caused any suffering. Mrs. Durst was born and reared in Grantsville, Md., and died at the age of 69 years and 16 days. She was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Hanft) Yommer, and in addition to her husband, is survived by one daughter, Lila, wife of Lester Opel of Elk Lick Township, and one brother, Charles Yommer, of Salisbury, and by three sisters, Mrs. Richard Younkin of Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Robert Himmler of Trafford City, and Mrs. List Daniels of Cumberland, Md. Five grandchildren also survive her. Homer Durst, her only son, preceded her in death several years ago. Mrs. Durst was a faithful member of the Lutheran church, and the funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Salisbury, last Sunday afternoon at one o'clock. The burial arrangement was in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas of Salisbury, and interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The floral tributes were very beautiful, and the funeral was largely attended, as Mrs. Durst was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Among those from outside the home community, who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Himmler, accompanied by a son and two daughters, of Trafford City; Mr. and Mrs. List Daniels, of Cumberland, Md.; Emmons Younkin, of Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Patton of West Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. John Cochrane of Mather.
