Born April 23, 1927, in Grantsville, Md., a son of the late Walter and Ethel Johnston Durst. He was a former construction worker and truck driver and he worked at the Fox Den Acres at New Stanton for several years. Veteran of World war II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Affiliated with the Assembly of God Church, Jeannette. Mr. Durst was an avid CB radio operator, whose handles were "Double T" and "Skipper." In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Larry Durst, who was killed in the Vietnam conflict; a brother, Watson Wakefield Durst; and three sisters: Alta Pirl, Mary Ellen Haines and Virginia Meloni. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Cree Durst; a brother, James Durst of Delmont, and two sisters, Delores Resh of Ohio and Ethel Marie Fetty. No public viewing or visitation.
