Durst, 69, of Somerset RD 8, died June 9, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1919, in Somerset, son of the late Milton and Cora (Miller) Durst. Preceded in death by a sister, Alice Houpt. Survived by his wife the former Bertha (Tinkey) Hamer Durst; these step-children: Mrs. Joseph (Joyce) Cuteri of Pittsburgh; Ida Lee Hamer and Mrs. Lowell (Mary Jane) McVay, both of Colorado Springs, Colo; the Rev. David Hamer of Newton Falls, Ohio; Stephen Hamer of Denver, Colo.; and 10 step-grandchildren. Brother of: John, Somerset RD; Mrs. Henry (Bessie) Beam of Lavansville; Lee of Ohio; Abram of Somerset RD 8; George of Somerset; Clark of Friedens; Frank of Ohio; Henry of Haverford, Mass.; and Mrs. Louise Houpt of Cleveland, Ohio. Veteran of World War II, U.S. Army. Former member of First Christian Church, Somerset; formerly employed by Uptegraph and DeVilbiss companies. Friends received from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Kenneth McCune officiating.
