"Dutch" Dwire, 86, of Markleton RD 1, died Sept. 11, 1994, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1908, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, son of the late Silas and Aldora (Nicholson) Dwire. Preceded in death by wife, the former Christine Phillippi; two sons, Donald and Kenneth; four brothers and four sisters. Survived by son, Roy "Putch" Dwire, Confluence, and four daughters - Shirley King, Markleton; Louise Kreger, Confluence; Sandy Dwire and Loretta Ohler, both of Markleton; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also sister, Estella Houpt, Rockwood, and brother, Jack Dwire, Apollo. Veteran of World War II. Member of Ursina American Legion Post 946; Kingwood IOOF; New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Department, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev.
