Born Nov. 29, 1890, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, he was a son of Silas and Kissie (Burnworth) Dwire. Surviving are his wife, the former Etta Jennie Knopsnyder; three sons, Edward of Rockwood; James of Hyndman; and Willard of Uwechland (Chester County); two daughters, Mrs. Archie Lamp, Rockwood; and Mrs. Kenneth Mostoller, Somerset RD 5; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Harry, Frank and Jack Dwire, and Mrs. Frank Marker, all of Markleton RD 1; Mrs. Lee Patton, Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Herbert Garletts and Mrs. Jay Houpt, both of Rockwood RD 1. He retired from the B&O Railroad as a conductor after 47 years of service, and was a member of United Methodist Church in Rockwood and of Pine Turn Hunting Camp. His death terminates a marriage of 65 years. Funeral service was conducted Wednesday afternoon in William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Rev. George A. Lyford officiating.
