He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Confluence, a son of the late Ray Irish and Grace Louise (Turney) Dwire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Grimm) Dwire and these children: Lida Tinkey and husband Dean of Rockwood; Darlene Singer and husband Wayne of Somerset; Pam Shipley and husband Roger of Confluence; Gaye Beckner and husband Roger of Somerset; Harry Edgar Pritts and wife Denise of Somerset; Robin Dwire and fiance Glenn Kamp of Confluence; Robert F. Dwire Jr. and fiance Cora Thomas of Confluence; and Diana Kinney and husband Charles of Harbor Creek; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Jean Fike and husband Clarence, and Nancy Conn and husband Warren, all of Confluence; and a brother Donald Dwire and wife Shirley of Somerset. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of Confluence VFW Post 7250, Rockwood American Legion Post 279, Turkeyfoot Fish & Game Association and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Markleton. Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. today at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ralph Tinkey Jr. officiating. Interment in Kingwood IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Daily American, January 2, 2001 [D1154]
