Floyd Dye, 74, of Clover Hill Road, Somerset, died Dec. 10, 1980, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Sept. 18, 1906, at St. Marys, W.Va., son of the late Alonzo and Elsie (Reznor) Dye. Survived by wife, the former Elizabeth Kearns; and these children: Vivian, wife of Dr. Charles Good, Phoenixville, Pa.; and Betsy Gordon of Lemoore, Calif. Brother of Elton of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Elda Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz. Also survived by four grandchildren. Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset; Somerset Lodge 358, F and AM, Pittsburgh Consistory and Jaffa Temple; Somerset Hospital Board. Member and past president of Somerset Rotary Club, also various professional associations including life membership in the Pennsylvania Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association. Graduate of Fredonia Vocational High School and the Pennsylvania State University, where he received a bachelor of science and master's degree in agricultural education. On July 9,1974, Mr. Dye retired as chief of vocational field service, Western Region of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Carl Hull and Dr. William Doncaster officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
