(Pile) Eash, 104, of Davidsville and Hollsopple, died Feb. 18, 1997, at Patriot Manor, Somerset. Born Dec. 29, 1892, in Coleman, daughter of John W. and Catherine (Yoder) Pile. Preceded in death by parents and husband, Curtis Eash; infant daughters, Pauline and Margaret; son, Ralph Eash, and daughter-in-law Kathleen (Lynn) Eash; sister, Margaret Keyser; brothers: Homer, James, Russell, Norman and Charles Pile. Survived by daughter, Ruth C. Shank, married to Walter Shank; grandchildren: Nancy (Eash) Congersky, John Ralph Esh, Wally, William, James and Robert Shank; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eash was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hollsopple Volunteer Fire Company, charter member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society; Jenner Grange 1661; Rebekah Lodge; St. David's Quilters; the women's organization of St. David's (WELCA); and a faithful member of St. David's Lutheran Church since 1919. She will always be remembered for the beautiful flowers in front of her home in Davidsville. She also loved to cook and entertain for relatives and friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. Viewing at St. David's Lutheran Church from 10 am until time of service at 10:30 am Friday, Bishop George Pile (great nephew) and Rev. Nelson Ilgen Fritz officiating.
