Family receiving friends from 7-9 pm Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville; and from 1 pm until time of service at 2pm Saturday at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren. The Rev. William Wenger officiating. Daily American, Jan. 4, 2002 [E0015] JOHN E. EASH SR John E. Eash Sr., 95, of Hollsopple, went to be with the Lord Jan. 2, 2002 at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Aug. 1, 1906 in Conemaugh Township. Son of Samuel A. and Cadilla (Blough) Eash. Preceded in death by parents, step-mother Anna Harvey Eash, brothers Stephen, Samuel, Herbert, and four infant brothers, sisters Lydia, Eva Shetler, Mary McKenna, and Twila and granddaughter. Survived by wife Rose (Moranduzzo) with whom he would have celeberated 72 years of Feb. 15, and these children, Rev. John E. Jr. married to Wilma Berkey Hollsopple, Laurence D. married Bernice Hershberger, York, Arbutus married to John A. Blough, Hollsopple, and Dr. Violette Eash, Huntington, WVa. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Brother of Nancy Impala and Laverne Kinkead, both of Johnstown, and Earl of Virginia, also survived by sister-in-law Theresa Eash and stepsister Annabelle Kauffman and stepbrother Ross Miller of Johnstown, and numerouse nieces and nephews. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren where he was a member of the Loyal Bible Sunday School Class, former secretary of Maple Spring Cemetery Association, member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society, a retired miner and member of United Mine Workers of America, also worked for Q.P. Geisel as a plasterer and PennDOT. He was a fifth generation decendant of Joseph Johns the founder of Johnstown. Family receiving friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Remains will lie in state from 1pm unitl time of service at 2pm Saturday at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren. The Rev. William W. Wenger officiating.
