Born Jan, 14, 1919 in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Alva and Lucy Swink Echard. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Echard. Survived by his loving family: Jeannie Pearl Menser Echard, wife of 58 years; brother, Lester F. Echard and wife Dorthy of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the 329th infantry of the US Army during WWII. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was the owner of Mt. Pleasant Floral & Greenhouse and operated the business for over 50 years. He was an ordained elder and deacon of Reunion Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, and an elder and deacon of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Somerset. Member of the American Legion 446, Mt. Pleasant. Named 1978 Mt. Pleasant Elks Citizen of the Year. Past president of the former Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club. Visitation from 7-9 pm Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, where servcie will be at 11 am Friday. Rev. Jay W.
