She was born June 17, 1922. Daughter of the late Oren and Mary Hay of Somerset County. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Lavansville and was graduated from Somerset High School in 1938. After attending Allegheny College for a year, she enrolled in the Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School and was graduated in 1943. She was employed as a school nurse for several years in the Bethel Park School District and was a pediatric nurse for Dr. Robert Tyson for many years until her retirement in 1990. Long-time member and served several terms as president of the Friendship Club in Bethel Park. Member also of Presbyterian Hospital Alumni Associating and the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Bethel Park, where she served as a deacon. She married Peter S. Edwards Jr. of Bethel Park on March 17, 1944, at Spence Field in Moultrie, Ga. She was the loving mother of Barbara Bancroft, Peter S Edwards III, Sue Means and Mark Edwards. She was the doting grandmother of 12. Sister of Verna DeGolier, Helen Wilson and the late Edna Hay and Ernest Hay. No visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Saturday in Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, Pa. Family will receive friends at a reception in the church hall immediately following the service.
