Egolf, 100, Manns Choice RD 1, died May 13, 1989, at Bedford County Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1888, in Bedford County, son of the late John H. and Mary (Fritz) Egolf. Preceded in death by wife, former Mary E. Bittner, who died Nov. 24, 1971; brothers: Russell, Howard, Daniel, Glenn and J. Earl; sisters: Alice Hillegass and Elizabeth Gohn; and infant sister, Pearl. Brother of William F., Orchard Heights, Bedford, and Mrs. Nellie Rock, DeGraff, Ohio. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Retired as schoolteacher after 38 years of service, always in one-room school. Lifetime farmer. Director emeritus of Schellsburg Cemetery Board. Member of former Schellsburg Lodge, IOOF. Also member of Woodbury Lodge 368, IOOF; Schellsburg Lions Club; and St. Mark's United Church of Christ, New Buena Vista. Director of Schellsburg Burial Association. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at Mickel-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, The Rev. Timothy Helms and Charles Shetler.
