He was a lovable man, an outstanding husband and father of the old school. For over a quarter of a century he lived in the Long Green Valley between Loch Raven and Towson, and during all these years maintained a home known for its hospitality, and reared a family, all of whom have been intimately associated with the social and public life of that entire community. His home life was ideal. His wife, to whom he was devotedly attached, was his inspiration and help through the struggles of his early years, and during that portion of his life when retirement and ease were his, and until his death, was his constant and loved companion. Mr. Ehlen was justly regarded as a splendid businessman. He was successful and achieved the success he enjoyed through his personal ability and untiring efforts. He was a director of the Towson National Bank. The officers, employees and his fellow directors appreciated from the time he became affiliated with the bank as a director, his wise counsel and sound advice. Those who knew him, will never cease to cherish his memory, and those who did not, have missed a very high and pleasant privilege. Meyersdale Republican, March 27, 1930
