EISFELLER News was received here last week of the death of Lucien J. Eisfeller, a native of Meyersdale, who left here when a lad in 1883, with his parents, the late Henry and Margaret Eisfeller, and had lived in the West ever since. His late home was in LaGrange, Illinois. His death occurred in Toledo, Ohio, where he was president of the Redfern Cloak and Suit Company, with which he had been connected for many years, both as a traveling salesman and manager. He was about 60 years of age. While at his home the week preceding his death, he complained of not feeling well, and his wife tried to persuade him to remain at home for a thorough rest, as he had been working very hard recently. But he felt that he was needed at the factory in Toledo on pressing business, so he returned to that city. A few days after his return he felt so ill that he entered a hospital for medical treatment. No serious ailment was discovered by the hospital staff, so after a few days' rest and observation he was discharged. On Wednesday of last week he had severe pains around the heart and returned to the hospital. On re- examination his heart was found to be in serious condition and within a few hours he expired. A short funeral service was held in Toledo Friday morning, and his body was then taken to his home in LaGrange, Ill., where the obsequies were concluded and interment was made last Saturday. Mr. Eisfeller is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss Margaret Eisfeller, of LaGrange, Ill., and the following sisters and brothers: Miss May and Henry A. Eisfeller Alhambra, Cal.; Victor E. Eisfeller, Miami, Fla.; Mrs. Charles P. Huise, LaGrange, Ill., and Phideas M. Eisfeller, Toledo, O. Meyersdale Republican, February 27, 1930
