  R. DAVID ELLIS
  
    R. David Ellis, 82, of Somerset RD 1 died May 4, 1996, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born March 14, 1914, in Garrett.  Son of the late Robert Bassett
  and Ellen Agnes (George) Ellis.  Also preceded in death by sister, Helen
  Thompson.  Survived by wife, the former Luella Barkman, and these children:
  Mrs. Steve (Patricia) Rygel, East Lake, Ohio; Michael Ellis, married to the
  former Marsha Narad, Niles, Mich; Mrs. Ralph (Susan) Glessner, Salix; John
  W. Ellis, married to the former Paiboon Penibut, Anchorage, Ala., and Mrs.
  Calvin (Ruth) Hahn, Somerset.  Also 12 grandchildren and 5 great
  grandchildren. Brother of John S. Ellis, Clearwater, Fla.; Joan Bronyak,
  Hollister, Calif., and Joey Cramer, Phoenix, Ariz.  Member of St. Peter's
  Catholic Church and 55 and Over Speeders.  Fifty-year member of American
  Legion Post 181.  Army veteran of WWII.  Employed for 26 years at DeVilbiss
  Co., retiring in 1976 as a supervisor.  Manager of the former Roxy Theater
  in Meyersdalel in 1930's and former manager of Somerset Taxi Co.  Friends
  received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home.
  American Legion Post 181 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 pm Tuesday
  at the funeral home.  Wake service wil be held at 8:45 pm Tuesday in the
  funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am
  Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli
  officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial
  contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 231 Walnut St.,
  Johnstown, PA 15901.
