Earl Leroy Emerick Sr., 62, of Hyndman RD 1, died November 17, 1982 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Altoona. Born in Hyndman RD June 14, 1920, he was a son of Mrs. Ada (Deneen) Emerick, of Hyndman, and the late Thomas Emerick. He was served with the military police in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired laborer and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Hyndman, the Hyndman Volunteer Fire Department and the Hyndman Veterans of Foreign Wars post. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillian (Kaiser) Emerick; four sons, Billy O'Neal Emerick, Ellerslie, Md.; Earl Emerick Jr. and Gary James Emerick, both of Hyndman RD 1; Ronald R. Emerick, Hyndman RD 1; two daughters, Mrs. Gloriajean Leydig, Hyndman RD 1; Mrs. Linda Lou Harden, Hyndman RD 1; two brothers, Thomas Emerick, Fairhope; Ivan Deneen, Cairnbrook; one sister, Mrs. Irene Bonner, Hyndman RD 1; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Leroy Logsdon officiating. Members of the VFW Post participated in the service and held military honors at graveside in the Lybarger Cemetery, Buffalo Mills RD. The Republic, November 25, 1982 [E184]
