   Edwina M. "Winnie" Emerick, 89, Somerset, died Jan. 8, 2007, at Somerset Hospital,
  Somerset. Born Jan. 9, 1917, in Toronto, Canada, the daughter of Arthur Edwin Meaker Jr.
  and Nell L. (Read) Meaker-Bartlett. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Ernest Lee
  Emerick Sr., who died May 25, 1976; son, E. Lee Emerick Jr.; brother, Edwin Meaker;
  stepfather, John D. Bartlett. Survived by daughter, Mrs. William J. (Cherie) Glessner of
  Berlin; granddaughters, Christine Peters and Dr. Victoria Emerick-Meek and husband, Dr.
  Tom Meek, all of Lancaster; sister Patricia Gooden and half brother Frederick Bartlett
  both of Syracuse, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Roe-Emerick, Lancaster. Member of
  Somerset Alliance Church. Worked as a local correspondent for the Johnstown Tribune for
  the Shanksville and Somerset area for 23 years. Also worked as a clerk for Cascio's Fruit
  Market. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler
  Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev.
  James E. Vandervort officiating. Interment Walker Cemetery. Contributions to Somerset
  Alliance Church, 708 Stoystown Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
