  Elwood M. Emerick, 80, of Pine Valley Road, Fairhope, died Feb. 21, 2000,
  at home.  Born Feb. 3, 1920, in Fairhope, son of George and Pearl V.
  (Clites) Emerick.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Leora, brothers Roy
  and Wilbert.  Survived by his wife of 45, years, the former Hazel Miller, and
  these children: Ronald of Oceanside, Calif.; Dennis of Battlegrounds, Wash.;
  Kevin, married to former Jeri Martin, Fairhope; Mary, married to Robert
  Ohler and David, married to former Sandra Horning, both of Berlin; Ellen,
  married to Daly Shuck and Dale, married to former, Martha Parson, both of
  Meyersdale; and Lee, at home.  Also, 17 grandchildren and numerous
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of Carrie and Fred Emerick, both of Fairhope;
  and Irene Mowery of Berlin.  World War II Army veteran.  Retired sawmill
  worker and farmer.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11
  a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Jay E. Shaffer officiating.  Interment, Miller Cemetery
  Fairhope.
