  George Russell "Hop" Emerick, 74, Large Street, Meyersdale, died Feb. 17, 2006,
  at home surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Fairhope, a son of the
  late Verdie "Bert" and Leora Catherine (Emerick) Emerick. He is also preceded
  in death by two grandchildren and a sister. Survived by Helen Leota (Leydig)
  Emerick, his wife of 54 years, whom he married Feb. 28, 1952; sons, Gary
  Emerick, Terry Emerick and Ronald Emerick, all of Somerset; daughters, Flora
  Sarver and husband Robert, Hyndman, Bonnie Patton and husband John, Meyersdale,
  Tammy Weaverling, Hyndman; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 brothers
  and sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was a logger. He was also member of
  the Meyersdale Church of Christ. Life member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen's
  Club and the Paradise Valley Sportsmen's Club. Friends will be received from 2
  to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169
  Clarence St., Hyndman, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m.
  Wednesday. The Rev. Harry Ryan officiating. Burial will be at Hyndman Cemetery,
  Hyndman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meyersdale Church of
  Christ or Wills Mountain Church of Christ.
