Emerick, 63, of Hyndman RD 1, died Feb. 21, 1981, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hyndman Oct. 11, 1917, he was a son of the late Harry and Lesto (Hook) Emerick. He was an Army veteran of World War II and attained the rank of corporal. He had resided in Holsopple, until about seven years ago. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel (Fichtner) Browning Emerick; five sons, Harry D. Emerick, Windber; Mick J. Emerick, Boswell RD 1; Charles D. Emerick, and John L. Emerick, both of Holsopple; David R. Emerick, USMC, overseas; a stepson, Raymond H. Browning, Pawcatuck, Conn.; a brother, Earl Emerick, Somerset; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Cosco, Bladensburg, Md.; Mrs. Minnie Martell, Windber; Mrs. Mary Medd, Riverside, N.J. and Miss Clara Emerick, Meyersdale, and nine grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler, Funeral Home, where services were conducted with Rev. Robert Wellman officiating. Interment will be in Palo Alto Cemetery.
