Emerick, 77, Hyndman, died Nov. 13, 1972, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born May 27, 1895, in Fairhope, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Maggie (Smith) Poorbaugh. Her husband, Benjamin Emerick, preceded her in death. Mrs. Emerick was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Hynman, its Ladies Aid and the Hyndman Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary. Surviving are three daughters, Geneva Reed, Bethesda, Md.; Lois Korns, Hyndman RD 1; and Violet Lockey of Bethlehem, Pa.; two sons, Jack Emerick, Hyndman; and William Emerick, Bethlehem; also seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted Wednesday afternoon in Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with Rev. Douglas Borko officiating. Interment in Hyndman Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, Nov. 16, 1972 [E215]
