Emerick, 92, of Corriganville, Md., died Nov. 15, 2003 at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center, Frostburg Md., where he had been a resident since 2001. Born on May 20, 1911, Southampton Township, he was the last surviving child of the late Jacob and Lydia (Martz) Emerick. He is also preceded in death by his Wife, Ruth (Ford) Emerick, in 1993 after nearly 63 years of marriage; a son, Arthur R.; a daughter, Mary Lee; a grandchild; a daughter-in-law, and six brothers and four sisters. Surviving are children: Robert M. Emerick and wife Marilyn (Tritapoe) and George H. Emerick and wife Nellie (Baker), all of Corriganville, Larry J. Emerick and wife Terri Metzger, Glencoe and Karen Kay Welch and husband Donnie, Pt. Pierce, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Emerick retired from Celanese Corporation's Amcelle Plant in 1973 where he had worked as a lab assistant. He was employed by Celanese Corporation for more than 43 years. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, Md. A deeply Faithful man, he had read the Holy Bible through more than 30 times. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 16 Clarence Street, Hyndman, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating. Interment will be in the Ford Family Cemetery, Corriganville. Daily American, not dated [E221]
