Born Jan. 6, 1914, in Fairhope Township, Somerset County, son of the late George V. and Pearl V. (Clites) Emerick. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Belma M. (Baer) Emerick, on Feb. 28, 1984; a brother, Wilbert Emerick, and a sister, Leora Emerick. Surviving are 3 sons: Mervin R. Emerick, Buffalo Mills RD 1; Manford L. Emerick, Hyndman, and Glenn W. Emerick, Fairbanks, Alaska; 2 daughters: Dorothy E. McCoy, Dillsburg, and Susan P. Larson, McConnellsburg; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elwood M. Emerick and Fred W. Emerick, both of Fairhope, and 2 sisters, Carrie E. Emerick, Fairhope, and Irene M. Mowry, Berlin. Retired trackman for the B&O Railroad. Attended Fairhope Community Church. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Rev. Bradley Reider and Rev. Leroy Logsdon officiating. Interment, Mount Zion Cemetery, Fairhope RD I. Memorials may be sent to Fairhope Community Church, Fairhope, Pa., 15538.
