EMERICK Verdie Russell Emerick, 67, of Fairhope, died Oct. 18, 1973, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. Born in Fairhope, he was a son of the late George W. and Edith (Kennel) Emerick. Mr. Emerick was a member of the Fairhope Community Church, was retired from the B&O Railroad Bolt and Forge Shop in Cumberland, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Carmen. Surviving are his wife, the former Leora Katherine Emerick; eight sons, Merle B. Emerick, Baltimore; Wayne E. Emerick, Parris Island, S. C.; Paul L. Emerick, Chambersburg; George R., James F., Robert L., John H. and Ernest L. Emerick, all of Fairhope; five daughters, Mrs.. Pauline Moore, Mrs. Betty Loud Clues and Mrs. June Kennel!, all, of Hyndman RD 1; Mrs. Sharon Hagerty, Benton Harbor, Mich.; and Mrs. Wilma Jordan, McKeesport; 29 grandchildren, three I great-grandchildren; also two brothers, James and George A. Emerick, both of Fairhope; and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Twigg, Cumberland; and Mrs. Goldie Crawford, Martinsburg, W. Va. Funeral service was conducted Sunday morning in Zeigler Funeral Home. Hyndman, with Rev., Leroy Logsdon officiating. Interment in Comps Cemetery, Hyndman RD I. Meyersdale Republican, Oct. 25, 1973 [E237]
