Born Sept. 5, 1919, in Jones Mills. Daughter of the late John Gay and Annie (Stahl) Harkcom. Preceded in death by 2 sisters: Emma Flick and Marie Bowers-Koontz and a brother, Alvie Ray Harkcom. Survived by husband, Monroe Edmund Emert, to whom she was married for 53 years, and by a son, Roger A. Emert, married to the former Cathy Gerney of Central City RD 1. Also two grandchildren: Travis and Brandi Mert. Cashier at the former Acme Market, Somerset. Member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Knitting Club, Tuesday Ladies Golf League and the Wednesday Ladies Bowling League. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. No viewing at the church.
