Born Jan. 31, 1917, in Somerset, son of Charles William and Edna May (Woy) Emert. Preceded in death by parents, and wife, the former Margaret Jeanetta "Peg" Harkcom, who died Feb. 25, 1996. Survived by son, Roger A. Emert, married to the former Cathy Gerney, Central City (Indian Lake); grandchildren. Travis and Brandi Emert; great-granddaughter, Lee Aness Emert. Brother of Mrs. Pearl E. Shaffer, Somerset; Mrs. Thelma M. Kowalczyk, Boswell; Mrs. Ethel M. Deist, Manheim; John G. Emert, Uniontown; Charles Ray Emert, Cleveland, Ohio, and David W. Emert, Somerset. Member of Grace United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post 554, American Legion Post 181, Western Pennsylvania Regional District Council of Carpenters. U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. Retired self-employed carpenter. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating. Viewing at the church from 9:30 am. to time of service.
