Emert Sr., 64, of Somerset, died June 26, 1989, at Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. Born Aug. 27, 1924, in Jenner Township, son of the late Edward Ellsworth and Mayme Catherine (Brant) Emert. Also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survived by wife, former Daisy M. Reiber; and these children: Richard W. Jr., married to the former Joyce Johnson, Somerset RD 2; John E., married to the former Claudie Swegler, Arnstein, West Germany; Mrs. Randy R. (Emily) Troy of Somerset; four grandsons: Simon and John Emert and Brennen and Marshall Troy. Brother of Ralph W. Emert of Shanksville. Brake tester for Raymark Corp. Veteran of U.S. Army, World War II. Member of Beulah United Methodist Church; Lodge No. 358, F&AM; VFW Post 554; I.O.O.F. Lodge 438; and Laurel Ridge Sportsmen Association. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, were service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. David S. Jack officiating. Interment, Beulah Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Beulah United Methodist Church Building Fund. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
