Emert, 61, Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Somerset, died July 14, 1980, in Metro-General Hospital, Cleveland. Born April 8, 1919, in Somerset County, he was a son of William and Minnie (Hoffman) Emert. Survived by his wife, Betty (Durst) Emert; and these children: Robert Durst, Friedens; John Richard Emert, David Allen Emert, Patricia Holt and Penny Kotchman, all of Cleveland; six grandchildren; and two brothers and one sister: Charles, California; James, Washington, D.C.; and Marie, wife of Harry Shaffer, Friedens. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Cleveland. A veteran of WW II, he was employed by the Cuyahoga County Board of Election as a voting machine technician. Friends wil be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Don Judy officiating.
