Enfield, 76, of South Edgewood Avenue, Somerset, died July II, 1995, at Somerset Hospital. Born June 15, 1919, in Somerset, son of the late William and Carrie (Kimmel) Enfield. His death terminated a marriage union of 24 years. Preceded in death by a sister, Frances (Enfield) Donner. Survived by his wife, Marguerite (Flanigan) Enfield, and these children: Nicole Enfield Potter, Cleveland, Ohio; Kerry Enfield Weber, Karen Winters Frantz, and Linda Winters Stith, all of Somerset; grandchildren: David B. Weir, Jr., Jeanifer Berkey Weir, Kristin Enfield DeLong, Kyle Weber, Kendra Weber, Heather Frantz, Annie Frantz, Mary Jo Frantz; two great-grandchildren: Nicole and Courtney DeLong, and one sister, Doris Enfield Lowry, Shanksville. Member of First Christian Church of Somerset. Veteran of World War II. Served as first sergeant, Company C, 43rd Engineers Construction Battalion. Member of American Legion, Somerset VFW Post 554, Somerset Masonic Lodge 358, F. & A.M. 32nd Degree Mason. Also member of Jaffa Shrine, Altoona. Former vice president of Solar Fuel Company from 1950 to 1972. Recently retired from Continental Research. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday by Rev. William Sleasman. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Heart Association or the First Christian Church. Somerset Lodge 358, F. & A.M., will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Daily American, July 12, 1995 [E277]
